Entrepreneurship Academy 2016 - Creating Startup Success: Business Model Design and Entrepreneurial Leadership
Professor Simon Lam began his talk by pointing out one of the most important factors for the success of a startup is to have a good business model. He introduced the 9 components of a business model so that the company can create its values and deliver products or services for customers. He then shared some of the successful cases, which include Google, Starbucks, McDonald, Polo Ralph Lauren and Alibaba. With the constant changing world, Prof. Lam demonstrated the seven sources for innovation opportunities, which include changes in market structure, demographic changes, new knowledge and new technology. The workshop was concluded by the “A to Z” of Entrepreneurial Leadership e.g. “B- be the first, best and unique” in the market and “Q – Quit when the time comes”.
